November 25th - B11-1 and B11-2 North team changes.  Please review schedule.

December 2 - Changes to G12-2 schedule for Dec 20-21; Changes to G14-1 schedule for Dec 7; Changes to B13-1 for Dec 14

December 3 - Changes to B13-1 and B13-2 North Dec 13 schedule due to gym loss at Edison HS-1 that day

December 8 - Boys 10 2nd week of pool play now posted on schedule.

December 9 - Girls 10 2nd week of pool play now posted on schedule.

December 12 - Gym loss at L.Jackson MS-1 for Sat & Sun, Dec 13 & 14.  Revised shedules for Boys 12-1, Boys 12-2 North, Boys 13-1 and Girls 12-2.

December 15 - Boys 10 and Girls 10 week 3 pool play now posted on schedule.

December 17 - Boys 10 pool play - two opponent changes; Gym loss Sun Dec 21 at Battlefield HS - games moved to new times and locations for B12-1, B12-2N, B13-1 and G12-2.  Schedules revised.

December 17 -- o'dark-thirty - January & February schedules now posted for Boys 11-13 and Girls 11-14.

December 27 - McLean HS gym loss Jan 4 and Bryant gym loss Feb 7 affects B13-1, B13-2N and B13-2S.  Changes to B12-2S for Jan 17 and G12-2 for Feb 21; Added games for B11-1 Feb 21-22.  Please review revised schedules.  Girls and Boys 10 schedules for January will be posted by Tuesday.

December 29 - Boys 10 and Girls 10 January schedule now posted.

December 30 - Girls 10 January schedule has been deleted.  Revised schedule will be posted Thursday.

January 1 - Girls 10 January revised schedule posted.

January 5 - Boys & Girls 10 February schedule posted.  B10-2N time change 1/18; B11-2S game reschedules from gym loss.

January 6 - Boys 15 & Boys 18 schedule posted.

January 11 - PLEASE REVIEW YOUR SCHEDULE.  Most boys schedules have changes and G12-2 and G14-1 have changes.  B15&B18 schedule revised.  Imminent changes for Jan 17 - loss of Ft. Belvoir Specker 1 & 2.

January 13 - Gym loss Sat Jan 17 of Madison HS-2 only -- B13-2N one game and G14-2 two games.  Schedules revised with location move.

January 15 - Scheule changes posted for B10-2N; B11-2S and B13-2N

January 18 - Game change B12-2N

January 23 - Time changes for B10-2S, B11-2S, B12-2N at Hayfield 1/24 (coaches called);
B12-2 South Hayfield 1/24 game moves to 1/27 Bryant (coaches called); Game time change G10-2 on 1/31 Whitman; Game reschedule for B13-1 from 12/14 to 1/22.  Please review schedules.

January 28 - Games rescheduled from weather gym loss on Jan 27 & 28.  Also, partial draft of Playoff schedule with seedings and most dates but no times or locations posted except for Championship Saturday, March 7 games.  Semi-final games with no dates will be weeknights March 2-5.

February 3 -- Reschedules for B15 -- 2/3 gym closure and 1/10 game reschedule.

February 10 -- Time and location change for B11-1 game on Sunday, Feb 15.  Coaches notified.

February 15 -- Dates and time have been added to draft playoff schedule.  Please remember, this is just a DRAFT and once final seeds are determined by the Commissioners on Feb 23, there WILL be some changes to this draft schedule as needed

February 16 -- Reschedule for B10-2S - game rescheduled to Wed Feb 18.

February 18 -- See below for tie-breaker info and 2008-09 lottery draw

February 23 -- Playoff seeds are now posted on the schedule.  A couple time changes are also listed in red from initial draft. 

February 24 -- MVP/MVC and All League now posted on the MVP/MVC tab.  Congratulations to all!  Also, annual banquet info preceeds the honorees.  Please review for info needed to be provided to the FCYBL chair by March 2.

February 25 -- Wednesday night playoff results posted. 

February 26 -- Thursday night playoff results posted.

February 28 -- Saturday playoff results posted -- those reported as of 10:20pm.  12 games not reported overall. 

February 28 -- More playoff results posted as of midnight.  9 games not reported overall.

March 2 -- Sunday playoff results as of 6:30 am.  6 games not yet reported.  Reschedules of tonight's games for B11-1 & B12-2 due to snow/school closure.

March 3 -- Playoff results as of 5am.  2 games still not reported (B10-2 & B13-2)

March 5 -- Playoff results through March 4.  Also time change for G14-2 & B15 championship Saturday game.

March 6 -- Playoff results posted for Championship Saturday games except for one in B13-2.

SCHEDULE

Tie Breaker Info and Lottery Draw:

Should two or more teams be tied for seeding positions for the FCYBL tournament and remain tied after the tie breakers have been used, then the lottery draw shall be used to break the tie.  The club with the lower number will receive the higher seed.  i.e. two teams are tied with 9-5 records for 1st place.  The teams played each other twice during the regular seasons and split those games.  The lottery draw will then be used.  Club A has a lottery draw of 14 and club B has a lottery draw of 7.  Club B will be the #1 seed and Club A will be the #2 seed.

GYM DIRECTIVE NOTICE:

Ft. Belvoir: Please do not enter the gym until 8:45 am.  The facilities and security personal will not let anyone in prior to 8:45 am.

Luther Jackson Middle School and other gyms:

We use many facilities throughout the area.  Requirements #1 & #2 below are for Luther Jackson Intermediate, and Requirements #3 & #4 are for all gyms that we use. 

 

Luther Jackson Intermediate is one of our primary sites for games.  This facility is also used for other after school uses and used for board meetings by the Fairfax County School Board.  It is imperative that we adhere to regulations for use or we could lose this valuable facility.

 

Effective immediately, the following requirements MUST be met:

 

(1) For weekday games, NO ONE (player, coach, parent, or game visitor) is to enter the main door of Luther Jackson prior to 6:00 PM.  The facility is open due to other uses, however, we do not have use of it for basketball prior to 6:00 PM.  Our games do not start until 6:15 PM, so this gives each team plenty of time to warm up.  For weekend games, DO NOT arrive or drop off players until 845 on Saturday and 1245 on Sunday.  COACHES:  You must be present to supervise the players.  If a coach is not on site, the players will be asked to wait outside until the coach arrives - REGARDLESS of the weather.

(2) For all games - both weekday and weekends - the 2nd gym at Luther Jackson has no seating and parents and guests will have to sit on the floor.  The only chairs provided will be 9 chairs for each team so that the coaches and substitutes have a place to sit down for games.  COACHES:  Please tell your parents to bring their own chairs if you are playing in gym#2. There are no chairs available and to not ask for them and/or verbally abuse the custodians regarding the lack of chairs. 

 

FOR ALL FACILITIES:

 

(3) THERE IS NO FOOD OR DRINKS (Other than water in an unbreakable container) allowed in Luther Jackson.  We are not kidding - Some parents think this is a game and sneak gatorade and other drinks and food into the facility.  EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:  The officials will be directed to assess a technical foul on the bench of the offending team if other drinks or food is being consumed by players and/or coaches.

(4) The coach is the only person allowed to bring basketballs into the facilities we use.  Any child who carries a basketball into the gym will be asked to leave the gym or give the basketball to their coach for safekeeping.

 

The above directives are due to the actions of a very small percentage of our parents, coaches and players, however it is imperative that EVERYONE take a proactive approach should you see someone else taking actions that could cause problems.
