Season Trophy Awards

FCYBL awards First and Second Place Season trophies to each player.

If the teams are tied for a trophy position, all teams will recieve appropriate trophies. . (For example, if two teams are tied for first place at the conclusion of the regular season, both teams would receive a first place trophy and no 2nd place trophy would be awarded.  Similarly, if two teams are tied for second place at the conclusion of the regular season, the first place team would receive a first place trophy and both 2nd place teams would receive 2nd place trophies.  The first team with the highest seeding placement will receive the initial box of trophies. The other team in the tied position will receive trophies about two weeks after the determination of awards.

Tournament Trophy Awards

FCYBL awards Championship and Runner-up Trophies to each player

Each player of the Runner-up team will be presented with a Runner-Up trophy.  Each player of the Championship team will be presented with a Championship trophy. Additionally, the winning coach will select a player from that Championship game as the Most Valuable Player.  The MVP will be awarded with the Championship MVP trophy.  This trophy is called the Russell O'Quinn award.

“ Russell O’Quinn was an honor student in school, active in his church and active in Boys Scouts.   Any parent would be proud to have a kid like Russ.  Russ also excelled at basketball and was selected to play for his Braddock Road Select team.  Russ lived near the school gym and would ride his bike to practice.  One evening riding home from practice, a drunk driver hit Russ and he died.  The Championship MVP trophy is dedicated to Russell O’Quinn.

Quantico Officials Performance

Quantico Officials is the Leagues service provider.  The League will take any evaluation to Quantico on behalf of any FCYBL member club.  The League continuously works with the organization to make sure they are providing the best service. The League works with the organization to have weak officials moved to House or recreation games, obtain additional training or be removed.  Every referee is evaluated during the season. Representatives, Coaches, players or spectators have no authority to confront any official (a coach maybe in violation of the Code of Conduct rules if a confrontation happens and words are exchanged).  It is the responsibility of the coach to take the complaint to the club’s FCYBL Representative noting the date, time, gym and the details of the complaint. A note about a great performance can also be sent to the club Representative. We do not require names; we have all the names and the schedule of the referees. Please do not put yourself in a situation that will be detrimental to the team.
